Beqaa Wineries

Picture

This charming winery, built on the remains of wine cellars dating back to the Bronze Age, covers three generations of winemakers from the Beqaa. It is the oldest winery in Lebanon, dating from 1923, that has some highly interesting marks from the past. Chateau Nakad produces red wines, white, rosé, sweet wine, anisette, Arak and Afandello, a very tasty citron spirit infused with orange and clementine peel. There offer an engaging one-hour wine tour, performed by the owner himself, including a wine tasting.

To reach the winery coming from Beirut, once in Chtaura, turn left towards Jdita just before Restaurant Hachem (you will find a Nakad barrel-sign on the crossing). Continue straight and after the gas station that is located on the right, take the first left up (just after the St Georges church). From there, take another left down following the Nakad winery sign.
