Beqaa Wineries

Picture

The medium sized vineyard of Chateau St Thomas, produces around 500,000 bottles of high quality wine per year. It is surrounded by a garden, picnic areas and a chapel. Active since 1992, the winery produces arak and wine and stores its wines in 30-meter deep cellars. It pioneered the use of the indigenous Lebanese grape variety Obeidy in the making of a crisp light white wine.

Tours and free wine tastings are organized daily, except on Sundays.

To reach Chateau St Thomas from Chtaura, take the road toward Beirut and after about one kilometer, turn left in the direction of Mashghara. The winery appears after about four kilometers at the end of Qab Elias on the right. Coming from Beirut, the right turn toward Mashghara can be found about 500 meters after the left sign to Jdita.
