Horsh Ehden Reserve

Located about 110 kilometers from Beirut, on the northern side of Qadisha Valley, Ehden is an attractive mountain village. A popular summer destination for the residents of Zgharta, the village is packed and buzzing between June and October. In the center is the picturesque al-Midan square, surrounded by shaded cafes and restaurants and some small shopping streets.

The town is known for its large (garden) restaurants, most of which overlook the running water of the Nebaa Mar Sarkis spring. Although there are several churches that might be worth a visit, the main reason for exploring this area is the beautiful Horsh Ehden Nature Reserve, located just three kilometers northeast of the town. Note that off-season, Ehden is more or less deserted and many restaurants and shops are closed.
