Located about three kilometers northwest of the center of Ehden, is the small and beautiful Horsh Ehden Nature Reserve (+961 (0)6 660 120 / 663 120). The reserve is full of cedar and pine trees and home to many birds, reptiles, and mammals.

The reserve has a lower northern entrance (Nabeh Jouit) and an upper southern entrance (Ain al-Bayada), both accessible from the road leading to the Adan Ehden Restaurant. If you do not have your own transportation, you can arrange a taxi from the center of the old village for about 8,000 LBP. At the Nabeh Jouit entrance are a kiosk, a camping, a restaurant and some chalets.

The reserve is an attractive place for hiking - best in spring and autumn - with several well signposted small trails (see map below). The reserve offers several organized activity packages, such as hiking, climbing and biking. More information can be found on www.horshehden.orgAnother option is to see whether you can join a trip organized by one of the local travel organizations, such as Vamos Todos, Esprit Nomade or Mashaweer. Click here for contact details and more information.
