Located in a beautiful valley called Bsetines al-Issi (Gardens of Canes) about eight kilometers northwest of Tannourine el-Tahta, the elongated village of Kfar Helda is home to some ruins of monasteries and churches. The valley is known for its lovely spring waterfalls hitting the banks of the Nahr al-Jawz (Walnut River) - best admired from the road above. In spring and summer, the valley is ideal for a hike, a picnic or to enjoy a lunch or dinner in one of its pleasant outdoor restaurants. In the nearby village of Beit Chlala are some attractive riverside restaurants.
