Situated on the eastern side of Qornet es-Sawda and only 25 kilometers away from The Cedars, this beautiful area surrounded by rough mountain hills is full of ponds and springs (oyoun). The ponds accumulate the water of the springs emerging from the foot of the steep hill, which are fed by snowmelt percolating from the summits of Jabal al-Mekmel and Qornet es-Sawda. In spring and summer, the numerous tented restaurants offer fresh fish (mainly trout) and mezze. Oyoun Orghosh is easily reached from Bcharre and The Cedars and is clearly signposted from there.

For hiking in the area, see whether you can join a trip organized by one of the local travel organizations, such as 33 North. Adventures in Lebanon sporadically organizes ATV/Quad trips from Faraya to Oyoun Orghosh. Click here for contact details and more information.
