Exclusive Monastery Loop Hike with Lunch

Discover the spectacular scenery and beautiful nature of Qadisha Valley, home to the first Christian monasteries of Lebanon, like you never did before. Let your guide take you on a 1.5 hour breathtaking loop hike (4 km, level 4) through the valley, during which you will visit five more monasteries and hidden (cave) churches, two of them being normally closed to the public. He will share with you the stories of the monk and hermit life in the monasteries, and tell you about the many saints worshiped in the area. After your hike, you will enjoy a lunch with a large selection of cold and hot Lebanese mezze, including mixed grill, arak and soft drinks at a local restaurant.​ You will end your day with a visit to Mar Elisha, one of the largest monasteries built as a hermitage. ​​
 YOUR DAY TOUR INCLUDES:
  • Transportation from and to Beirut.
  • ​​A 1.5 hour guided loop hike (4 km, level 4) with on your way a visit to five exquisite ​monasteries and (cave) churches, two of them being normally closed to the public: Mar Antonios, Deir el Salib, Mar Sarkis. Mar Bahnam and Saydet Shmouni.
  • A lunch with a large selection of cold and hot Lebanese mezze, including mixed grill, arak and soft drinks at a local restaurant.​
  • A 30 minute’ guided visit to Mar Elisha, one of the largest monasteries built as a hermitage. ​​

OPTIONAL: Add a visit to the old Cedar Forest, or a visit to the Khalil Gibran museum.

​​What to Wear/Bring: Water (1 lt), comfortable (hiking) shoes, comfortable pants/shorts, a back-pack, a sweater or thin jacket, sunglasses and sunscreen.
