Located 11 kilometers further down from Machnaqa, a narrow winding road up leads to the picturesque town of Qartaba - meaning the good, curing and balanced weather. After entering the village, continue straight and soon the small central town square will appear on the left.

In Qartaba, standing on the heights of the mountains, is the early 16th-century Monastery of Saints Sergius and Bacchus. Originally built as a church dedicated to the two holy martyrs, it became a monastery in 1823.
