The Aammiq Wetlands (Nabaa Amiq)

Located 13 kilometers southwest of Chtaura and directly east of the Barouk Mountains, the Aammiq Wetlands is the largest remaining freshwater reserve in Lebanon. It received the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve status in 2005 and covers 250 ha of marshes, ponds and willows, home to a large number of bird species and animals.
