Liability and Insurance

The safety and well-being of our clients is our number one priority for each and every tour. Participants are responsible for selecting a tour appropriate to their (physical) abilities and interests and should acknowledge that the tour and the accompanying activities are undertaken entirely at participant’s own risk. Participants are advised to follow the directions from Living Lebanon and the guides at all times.

Living Lebanon is released from all claims and liabilities arising out of or relating to participant’s participation in the tour(s) including but not limited to actions (or inactions) of participant or those of other participants. For the purpose of this clause “claims” means any allegation, cause of action, claim, demand, proceeding, litigation, investigation, judgment, loss, damage, expense or sickness of whatever nature and whether present or future, fixed or unascertained, actual or contingent.

In addition, Living Lebanon holds no responsibility for any loss, damage, expenses, injuries or sickness beyond Living Lebanon’s control, such as caused by natural calamity or disaster, weather conditions, war, civil unrest, strikes or suspension of services rendered by transport/accommodation facilities, governmental orders, or other such circumstances. All such losses, damages, expenses, injuries or sickness are the personal liability of the participant.

All tours are subject to availability. Living Lebanon reserves the right to take necessary measures, including cancellation of the tour, when a safe, smooth operation of the tour is deemed impossible, or when there is another valid reason to believe that the tour cannot continue, such as required to assure the safety of participants.

Our package and tour prices do not include travel or medical insurance so we advise all our participants to have valid travel insurance. This insurance should be obtainable in your country of residence and usually covers cancellation fees and, to some extent, accidents that might occur.

Payment

Tour fares are indicated for each tour. Upon registration and/or confirmation, clients are asked to confirm the fares according to the tour (starting) date, scope of the tour, and the number of participants.

Clients 11 years of age and more will be charged the adult fare and those aged 3 to 10 shall be charged the child fare unless otherwise specified.

After registration and/or confirmation, the tour fare shall be paid no later than the 7th day prior to the tour (starting) date. When registration and/or confirmation is performed after the 7th day prior to the tour (starting) date, the tour fare shall be paid before departure by a date designated by Living Lebanon. In case the client consents to pay for the tour by Credit Card, Living Lebanon shall charge the client's credit card for tour fares and any cancellation fee as stipulated below, even without a signature. In the absence of any request from the client, the card will be charged on the date the client accepts the tour.

If the client has not paid the tour fare by the prescribed payment date, Living Lebanon may cancel the tour. In such cases, the clients shall pay Living Lebanon the applicable cancellation fee (see Cancellation Fees below).

Cancellation by Living Lebanon

Living Lebanon reserves the right to cancel a tour, when a safe, smooth operation of the tour is deemed impossible, or when there is another valid reason to believe that the tour cannot continue, such as required to assure the safety of participants. In addition, preset daily tours can be cancelled by Living Lebanon in case less than 12 participants registered and paid for the tour. In case of the latter, participants have the right to receive a full refund of the tour.

Cancellation by Client

The client is at all times entitled to cancel the tour, yet must pay Living Lebanon a cancellation fee as stipulated below (see Cancellation Fees below).

If the client changes the tour date, transportation, accommodation, the scope of the tour and/or the number of participants for his or her convenience, Living Lebanon is entitled to cancel the complete tour in case these changes prevent a proper execution of the tour and activities. In this case, the specified cancellation fees will be levied on the client.

In any of the following cases, the client may cancel a tour without paying a cancellation fee:

  • When the content of the tour, the tour fare or activities have been substantially revised by Living Lebanon.
  • In cases where natural calamity or disaster, weather conditions, war, civil unrest, suspension of services related to transportation, accommodation and other facilities, governmental orders, or other causes make safe, smooth tour operation impossible, or when there is another valid reason to believe the tour cannot continue.
  • When Living Lebanon has not delivered the tour and activities to the client by the prescribed tour date.
  • When tour operation becomes impossible owing to factors for which Living Lebanon is liable.

In case of a cancellation, Living Lebanon shall refund the amount of the received tour fare after deducting the applicable cancellation fees, if any. If the received tour fare is not sufficient to cover the cancellation fees, Living Lebanon shall charge the difference to client separately.
