From Beirut, minibuses to Tripoli, such as the direct white Connexion bus, leave from Charles Helou bus station or from Dowra. These buses will drop you off at the Abdel Hamid Karim Square or on Bechara al-Khoury Street. Duration 1 - 2 hrs. / Costs: 2,000 - 5,000 LBP.
A private taxi from Beirut to Tripoli will cost around 80,000 LBP. Duration: 1 - 1.5 hr.
From Beirut, Jounieh and Byblos by car, Tripoli can be reached via the coastal highway to the north that runs into the western part of Tripoli, just east from el-Mina (the harbor). From there, it is about two kilometers east to the medieval center of Tripoli, and one kilometer west to reach el-Mina. Duration: 1 - 1.5 hr.
