From Beirut, most buses to Tyre leave from the Cola Intersection. From there, you can either go to the al-Nejmeh roundabout in Saida and then change to a bus to Tyre, or take a minivan straight to Tyre. The best way is a bit of a puzzle and depends on the kind of bus you prefer and on the road the bus driver will take. Another option is to take a direct minivan leaving from near the Kuwaiti Embassy in Beirut. Duration: 1.5 - 2.5 hrs. / Costs: 4,500 - 5,000 LBP.

A Servees from Beirut to Tyre can be found at Cola and will cost 10,000 LBP per person. For a taxi from Beirut to Tyre, expect to pay around 90,000 LBP.

To reach Tyre from Beirut by car, take the highway to the south toward Saida. Approaching the football stadium at Saida, follow the signs to Tyre. You will pass several roundabouts where you keep going straight until the road becomes a highway. After the large checkpoint, the highway soon discontinues, which means you have to continue your way via the old seaside road (left). Duration: 75 - 90 min.
