Chateau Florentine

Since 1997, the alluring Château Florentine, named after the wife of the owner, is located on a hill overlooking the village of Majdel Maouche and surrounded by their own vineyards. The winemakers here use a large variety of grapes, all imported from France and Spain, producing exclusive and high quality wines and arak, with prices starting at 50 USD per bottle. They have the most gorgeous wine cellar where wine is stored and aged in oak barrels and stainless steel vats.

To reach the winery from Barouk, go in the direction of Ain Zhalta (=straight when coming from Batloun) and continue straight till you reach Nabaa al Safa. Soon after you pass the restaurants here, you will find a checkpoint where you take a sharp left following the sign to Majd al Mooauche and from where the road leads up (if you come from Beirut, you take a right at this checkpoint). Follow the sign to Kfarniss and Majdel Meouche and once in Majdel Meouche, take a left up at the white shrine on your right (before you pass the LaLipco gas station). From here, follow the road up for about 300 meters after which you will find the winery, a large (secured) white building with a large fence, on the left.
