Barouk is the only village near the Shouf Cedar Reserve that can be reached by public transport. From Beirut, minibuses to the Shouf leave from the Cola Intersection. These either go straight to Barouk (only in the afternoon), or require you to switch to another minibus in Baaqline. Duration: 60 - 90 min. / Costs: 3,000 - 5,000 LBP. From Barouk, you can take a taxi, either to the Barouk Reserve (10 kilometers, 20 minutes; about 20,000 LBP), to the Maasser al-Shouf entrance (16 kilometers, 35 minutes; about 30,000 LBP) or to the Ain Zhalta entrance (6 kilometers, 10 minutes; about 10,000 LBP).

A taxi from Beirut to the Shouf Cedar Reserve will cost around 75,000 LBP.

From Beirut to the reserve by car, take the coastal highway to the south. Near Damour, take the exit toward ‘Beit ed Dine’ from where the road rises and turns land inwards to Deir el-Qamar. From Deir el-Qamar to Barouk, continue straight and in Maasser Beiteddine, take a sharp turn right and immediately a sharp turn left toward Barouk. From Deir el-Qamar to Maasser al-Shouf, keep straight and take a sharp right in Maasser Beiteddine to continue to Beiteddine. From there, head to Semqanieh, Jeiddet el-Shouf and Moukhtara (direction Jezzine). In Moukhtara, turn left toward Maasser al-Shouf. The Ain Zhalta entrance is located six kilometers northwest of Barouk. Duration: 60 - 75 min.
