Located between Kefraya and Saghbine, Château Qanafar is a family boutique winery with the goal of producing the best possible wines, in what they seem to succeed very well. The winery, located at 1200 meters, can only be reached by 4x4 and has great views on the entire Beqaa Valley, including Hermel & Lake Qaraoun. Visits can only be performed by appointment (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and tours include a PowerPoint presentation and wine tastings straight from the fermenters & barrels.
They are building a whole new venue, expected to be ready end of June and in December they hope to open a restaurant from where the great views can be enjoyed together with quality food and a good glass of Qanafar wine.
To reach the winery from Chtaura, take the road towards Qab Elias and Kefraya. From the checkpoint in Kefraya, continue straight for about another 2 kilometers. You can park your car at Beit el-Kataeb (recognized by its rectangle cedar tree logo) located on the right. The owner will pick you up from here as the winery is only accessible by 4x4 (a 10 minutes' drive up).
