Sights & Activities

The Tyre Coast Nature Reserve is located immediately southeast of Tyre and with its 380 ha, is home to the largest, most beautiful and calm sandy beach in Lebanon. It has characteristic flora and fauna and is an important nesting site for birds.

The reserve is divided into a tourism zone, an agricultural & archaeological zone and a conservation zone, the latter two with restricted access. The public beach can be found in the tourism zone, which in July and August abounds with beach cabins offering tables, seats, food and drinks.

To reach the reserve from Tyre, either take a taxi (about 5,000 LBP) or drive there following the signs.
