El Fourzol, Niha & Qsarnaba

Picture

The small and sweet village of Niha is best known for its impressive and well-preserved Roman temple, located between pine trees just west of the village. There are also the remains of another small temple just below.

Coming from El Fourzol, continue the main road in northeast direction. After passing the checkpoint, take the left fork at the blue Medco gas station. About two kilometers after the fork, the temple is signposted to the left (Temple de Niha). After about two kilometers, at the end of the village, the large and beautiful well-preserved temple is on the left. The entrance fee is 3,000 LBP.

A few kilometers further up the road, in a pretty valley with vineyards, a third temple is located on the right. After this temple, a dirt road - only suitable for a 4x4 - takes you further down the valley, which is perfectly suited to a small hike or a picnic.
