Beirut Highlights

The Nijmeh Square (Place de l'Etoile) means Star Square because of the 6 streets surrounding it.

In the middle of the square, stands the Rolex clocktower from the 1930, a gift from Michel Abed, a Lebanese-Mexican billionaire.

Also, you can find the Parliament, and the old Saint Georges Othodox Church dating from the 5th centrury with its museum.

Place de l’Étoile seems to either be totally empty or rammed with families with children on rented tricycles with attendant uniformed nannies. If your kids don't go in for archaeology, this is a good place for them to run wild.

You can have a break in some of the cafés and restaurants around the square!
