Just downhill from the monastery - on the way back to the center of the village - are two historical sites, with on the left the remains of two second-century Roman temples.

At the far end of the Roman-Byzantine settlement on your right, are some beautiful mosaics and the former floor of a sixth-century Byzantine Church. Behind the mosaics are the remains of a Roman public bath; its impressive underground heating system is clearly visible.
